A church for the heartland.
Heartland Springs Calvary Chapel is a non-denominational church in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Our primary objective is to help people become disciples of Jesus Christ by teaching the Bible verse by verse — engaging in worship, fostering fellowship, breaking bread together, offering prayers, and walking in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

We believe a healthy church is built on the Word, worship, fellowship, the breaking of bread, prayer, and the gifts of the Spirit — and that a healthy balance of these is essential for spiritual growth.
A fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Our supreme desire is to know Christ and to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. These convictions shape how we gather, worship, and grow together.

Not denominational, but not divisive.
We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such — only the over-emphasis of doctrinal differences that has led to the division of the Body of Christ.
-

Love is the only true basis for fellowship.
We believe the true basis of Christian fellowship is His agape love — greater than any differences we possess. Without it, we have no right to call ourselves Christians.
-

Worship should be spiritual.
We remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship. We don't follow a rigid script — we follow where He leads.
-
iv
Worship should be inspirational and intelligent.
We give a great place to music as inspiration, and we give a great emphasis to the teaching of the Word — that God Himself might instruct us how He should be worshiped.

Worship is fruitful.
We look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshiping Him. Worship that doesn't change us isn't worship at all.
What we hold to be true.
Eight articles that anchor our teaching, our worship, and our walk together.
So live for the kingdom of God. Seek to bring glory to Jesus Christ and the Lord will use you. It is my prayer, my constant and daily prayer, that God would keep me useable.Pastor Chuck Smith · Founder, Calvary Chapel

Samuel Lewman
Born in western Nebraska and shaped by life's challenges, Sam's encounter with the Lord during a high school struggle with depression set the foundation for a transformative path.
After enduring a life-altering accident that left him blind for two months, Sam and his family relocated to Utah, where he discovered a vibrant Calvary Chapel community that ignited his passion for daily Scripture and prayer.
With a calling that led him from a corporate career to Bible college in California, Sam has dedicated his life to serving God and spreading His word. Now, as senior pastor in Grand Island, he is committed to planting a church that nurtures discipleship and fosters genuine connections among believers — reflecting the love and grace that have so profoundly impacted his own life.
We'd love to see you.
